Okay, I'm writing this this to no one in particular since in the year it has been on the website I have one follower and that's my friend, Michelle. It was created for youth to read and speak back, but it's not working. I will try once again.
On January1, I asked the church, "What is your spiritual resolution?" I got a little feedback, so I'm gonna ask some more questions....Did you think about your spiritual resolution on Monday? Being spiritually aware demands some thought during the week. Actually, your faith should demand that your whole life is different because you think different. Why? Coz Jesus Christ is your, YOUR, Lord and Savior and that should change your life. If someone pulled you from a burning building, or back from a speeding car, would you not think about how they saved your life and what it would have been like if they hadn't taken the time to think it important to save you? Well, Jesus did too. Think about it, give thought to what your life would be like without the peace and grace of Christ.....it doesn't have to do with comfort or security, it has to do with a change of heart that makes life survivable.....who doesn't need that? And Jesus did it, does it, because of love.....you can't earn it or deserve it so get off the entitlement wagon....Jesus loves you....just how you are.....think about that when you're faking being asleep on your desk....

The Week After......
Well, we did pretty well on the Mystery Theatre Dinner.....$1400! That gives us one van....but we have plans for more fundraisers and we need you to help out....after all it's your mission trip....
The Picnic This Sunday (15th)
We are having a chuck an egg contest. If you've been to a Tornadoes Hockey game, where they chuck a puck you know the story....for those of you who don't, here it is. You buy an egg (plastic easter type) and it has a number on it. You can buy as many eggs as you want. At a certain time, everyone gets round the target (usually a bucket) and throws their egg with the idea of getting it in the bucket, if no one gets it in the bucket, then the closest to the bucket wins. K? K!
ALSO, we will be selling sno-cones! Yeah! So if you wanna work the booth, let me know. We will have two sizes. Cherry, Grape, Orange and maybe Strawberry.

Doubt is Good for You
Dude, this Sunday the Scripture is the one about Doubting Thomas. You know Tommy, he's the dude who didn't believe all the other disciples when they said that Jesus came to visit them after the crucifixion. Na-uh says Tommy! I mean, would you believe someone at your school if they said that Steve Jobs was outside giving away Apple Computers. "Na-uh!" you'd say! But what if they showed you the computer (in the box). I bet you'd beat it outside in seconds. Well, the disciples say that it was Jesus coz he showed them the holes in his hands and side. But Tommy wants to see it for himself. He's an "E" on the Myers-Briggs test....that means he wants clear facts and proof. Are you like that? Want to know "why." After all, we live in a world that is ruled by science and proven fact....I almost wrote proven theory....a definite oxymoron. Look it up.
Anyways, my point is that we often look for proof for things. There's a reason that TV shows like "Law and Order," "CSI," "NCIS," and about a million more are so popular....it's about proof. It's about hard fact. There's no doubt.
It's my theory that this is the foundation to the lack of "arts" in the suburbs. Art is about the heart. You like something because of what it causes in your heart not your head. The same with music, dance, poetry, literature....it's not proveable (is that a word?), it's an affinity. That means you like it because you do....no explanation, no facts, no proof. Heck, you like how your hair looks on any given day because of how it makes you feel....grasp that one intellectually.
So the point of my point is that proof isn't everything. It's something, but not everything that is important. There's doubt and mystery and not knowing the why of your preference or choice or belief. There's doubt coz we're human and don't know everything and know it. There's doubt because we might want to change our minds. Try to decide why you love your dog....ha! BUT that's okay. Why? Because we have doubt, we can know something without having to be intellectual about it. Faith, or love, can be felt and are not reasoning-able!
Do you have doubts about what you believe? Good! I'd be sad if you said no. Why? Coz you're not questioning and resolving if you're not doubting. Dude, quit frowning. Just go with the flow. Some of the doubt will go away when you begin to see the miraculous side of life. I don't know when that will happen, what do I look like, God?

Lotsa Stuff Coming At YOU!
Okay, we had fun yesterday with kickball, you guys are getting good! And THANKS for helping out with the Easter Egg Hunt by stuffing eggs. I know it was painful, not because it was hard but because you couldn't eat the candy!
Here's what's happening and it's all GOOD!
MYSTERY DINNER THEATRE AND DESSERT SALE FUNDRAISER
* If you're in the Mystery play.....memorize your lines!!!!!!!
*If you're not in the play, but you want to go on mission trip, then you are a server at the dinner. Plan to be there every night (three nights, Friday, Saturday, Sunday-May 6-8) ready to work.
*We will begin selling tickets to the dinner theatre this Sunday, April 17.....remember to tell family and friends who might want to come they don't have to be church members. They can call me for reservations.
*Why reservations? We can only get so many people in the Fellowship Hall for each night....soooooo that's why three nights.....
*Charla Lawson (Billy's and David's mom) is coordinating the dessert donations. Tell her thanks, and remember that your mom or dad might get a call to donate a dessert!
EASTER SUNRISE SERVICE
If you can help with the sunrise service, be at Five Star Complex at 5:45 am. Yeah, it's early but it will be a wonderful worship. We need you for the service!
MISSION TRIP REGISTRATION
The mission trip newsletter and registration will be out this week....there isn't a price on it coz we're still doing fundraisers....At the worst it will not be more than last year ($350) and at the best it will much less. It depends on the fundraisers so get creative about who to sell discout cards to and who to invite to the dinner theatre!!!!! They don't have to be church members!!!! I did reserve the vans today.....woo-hoo!
NEXT WEEK AT CROSSFIRE
We will be making our Easter banners that will let people know where we are for the sunrise service....that will not take too long. We might play kickball or we might play something else, I don't know....and we will talk about Easter. Didn't Tom do a great job at worship? Did you tell him? Remember that compliments are a good thing to spread around. If some of you would like to pray during worship, I mean aloud, let me know. You guys can share in the worship experience.
